Cultural Food: French Countryside Fig & Walnut Cake-Recipe

In the Fall, there are tons of things to forage for in the French countryside- figs, walnuts, chestnuts, mushrooms and more! It’s really fun to forage because it makes you more aware of your surrounds and it makes you feel like you’re more “in touch” with nature and your roots. 🙂 So we made a delicious Fig and Walnut Cake with a recipe that our host, Anne, gave us from one of her friends. I’m not a food blogger, so please excuse the low-quality pictures. 😉

0.25 cups red wine or sherry
0.5 cups olive oil
1.5 cups sugar
