Swiss wine is by far my favorite. In fact, it’s so good that they finish it all and don’t even export any of it. The Lavaux vineyard terraces overlooking Lac Leman have been protected by UNESCO since 2007. Cassidy and I went on a really inverted and foggy day and mostly everything was dead that time of year, so sadly it wasn’t as beautiful as usual. But, it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area; you can even see the alps on a clear day! The vineyard terraces are in between Lausanne and Geneva and are also very close to the Chillon Castle. Here are transportation directions to the vineyards!

Nearby, the Chillon Castle is also very impressive. The Lac Leman forms a mote around the castle because it’s built on a rocky island close to the shore. The castle is first mentioned in recorded history during the Savoy period in 1150 BCE. Here is a link to the entrance fees and hours. The tickets for adults are 12.50 CHF (around $12.50).
