Santa Monica

We loved Santa Monica. It’s close to everything happening in LA, but still feels like a quaint city. The pier has a really cool vibe and the city is very walkable.

Here are some things we enjoyed while we were there visiting a friend:

-Montana Street
Sushi Sho, Horchata Bakery— Also, visit Le Macaron French Pastries, we were too full after Sushi but will go next time because it looks really yummy 🙂

-Cute neighborhood around Montana Street

-The Santa Monica Pier
Great vibe at night with street musicians and an amusement park

-Santa Monica State Beach
Cute bike path and lots of open beach

Found a sand dollar 🙂

Dramatic mid-dancing pose

-Palisades Park
Santa Monica is basically on a cliff above the beach and this park is right on the edge of the cliff. It has a great view!

-Third Street Promenade
Quaint pedestrian area with shops, street musicians and restaurants!

Side note: Runyon and Hollywood

We also went to Hollywood with our friend, Johnny and did hiked Runyon. The hike overlooks LA and is a nice loop with lots of interesting locals and tourists (and their dogs). I’d recommend people watching there. 🙂 It gave us a quick taste of LA life. Parking is very difficult to find however. We parked at a mall to do this hike haha.
